Grandma's house forever in my memory...

Hello and hugs from grandma and off to the kitchen to peak what she may have waiting for you! I can still smell her house! And to scamper out back and look at all the things she had back there! Walk the edge of the garden and see the flowers she had everywhere and to swing on the front porch!!!

You know what I remember about Grandma's house are those clear plastic runners and the maple syrup bottle filled with sand to hold the kitchen door open I believe. Oh and the grapes out back or so I think there was a grape vine! And Unlce Tommy's old leaning shed. Those pictures of Grandma just make me think about her little house and how she was happy there riding her 3 wheeled bicycle in Chaffee. One last thing her screened in porch out back and the goodie drawer in the kitchen. The memories in that old house and now it's gone!

The thing I remember about Grandma Purdom's house in Cape Giradeau was the water pump inside the kitchen. I as just about to go into the Marine Corps and could barely get a glass of water out of it and she pumped a quart with one stroke. I also remember her making peach cobbler with no measuring devices other than her own hand!
