Grandma's house forever in my memory...

Hello and hugs from grandma and off to the kitchen to peak what she may have waiting for you! I can still smell her house! And to scamper out back and look at all the things she had back there! Walk the edge of the garden and see the flowers she had everywhere and to swing on the front porch!!!

Genealogy bug...its coming back on...

After inputting all this data and going through my genealogy "stuff," I happened to come across Jayne Said's phone number. This woman is a delight to speak with. She is 94 years old and still sharp in her mind. Great poise, courtesy, prim and proper just as they were in 40's, and great conversationist. Anyway, she is doing okay. It seems she fell in January and had damaged her pelvic bone and not bounced back the way she would like, but grateful the good Lord has blessed her with her memory yet she says. Jayne was a shoe model and very tiny petite woman wearing a size 4 and even modeled shoes in her 60's. Today, she lives in Poplar Bluff in a smoked filled small apartment. I cannot believe she still smokes, but habits are hard to break. She is a wonderful inspiration to me and I am grateful she takes the time to talk with me. What I find so amazing...she knew my great, great grandpa Purdom that served in the Civil War, Benjamin Purdom (Nathan Wesley Purdom's dad and John Dan Purdom's grandpa). I just find that AMAZING! She is a window to the past! Just thought I would share that! When I run across the last time I visited with her and took a photo, I will post it to the page.

Tallented ones here...

We need some more Tallented ones!

Nathan Wesley Purdom and Martha Omar Pennington

Dona Purdom Hecht, Dolly Purdom Zack (both these sisters had another mother - Rissie A Turner) Tom Lee, beside his mom Mattie (Martha) and Olga standing in front of her with Nathan seated. Olga lived with her aunt Emma Frances Purdom Mann and her daughter Stella Jayne Mann Said close to Olga's age. Jayne has some interesting stories I will share later.

George Arthur Purdom and Nora Newcom Purdom's family

These children died at a young age. George Arthur Purdom was brother to Nathan Wesley Purdom (John Dan Purdom's father). The mother,Nora was in poor health, she suffered from tuberculosis. Check out Hershe's pacifier.

Purdom Youngsters...

I was told this is Nathan, Pansy and Lillie in front of Will Brown's place. Correct me if I am wrong. The other is the girls Pansy E.V, Lillie Mae & Alberta Lee is what was on the back of the photo.

Welcome all Purdom Descendants!

I have talked about doing this for so long and I finally found an avenue to make it happen. This web site is for all to enjoy. Please feel free to check back from time to time to view updates of photos from the past. I really encourage (plead)you to give it some thought to create your own page and send me the link so I can post it to the Purdom Reunion page for others to be able to see your families! I may be posting photos that I need help identifying, so please feel free to comment or email with your responses. PLEASE let others in the family that I have no contact info on know that this site exists...especially the young as they have more abilities with this web page thing! Cousins, let siblings know and aunt & uncles let your kids know! I would really like to bring our family together online! This is my wish!
